With the Summer season around the corner, the warmer weather influences cooler styles, and if last Summer is any indication of how hot it will be this year, we will see a return of ponytails and short cuts. At Architeqt Salon & Gallery we have already been prepping our clients all Winter, keeping their hair healthy and moisturized for all the anticipated cuts, highlights, and colors.
Maintaining healthy hair in the Summer can be difficult as the harsh weather can cause dryness and breakage to your strands which is why prepping in the Winter/Spring months can be so important. Whether you’re in need of something simple like a conditioning treatment or a lasting treatment like a Keratin, your stylist is knowledgeable about what would be the most effective in keeping your look vibrant during these humid months. The relationship you build with your stylist over these months can be crucial and it is important that you create a routine, expressing your expectations and working towards your personal hair goals. Having a routine can also be cost effective in the long run because you should never have to come in for corrective service, which is usually the most expensive service.
Trendsetters in Hollywood have been forecasting super short cuts this year. Celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and Julianne Hough have played around with bobs and pixie cuts. One of the best attributes to short hair is the reduced amount of styling time when you just want to wash and go. This also means less time under a blow dryer or hot iron when it is already scorching outside.
If shedding your locks isn’t your personal style, you can always keep cool with a ponytail. This year ponytails have reached a high in popularity due to how versatile the ponytail has become. With braided styles and beachy waves, the ponytail can look carefree or voluminous or sophisticated depending on the style you request and the products you use. Our favorite at the moment is the three section ponytail spotted on Blake Lively at the Met Gala. When you book your appointment, be sure to ask for a blow dry or styling lesson to maintain or duplicate your customized ponytail style well after your appointment.
